The May/June issue of HP&R arrives at a time when the heating, plumbing and renewables sector is continuing to evolve rapidly. From low-carbon technologies and changing regulations to increasing customer expectations, businesses across the industry are balancing innovation with the practical realities of working on site every day.
A strong theme running through this issue is the importance of getting the fundamentals right. As heat pumps become more widely adopted across both domestic and commercial projects, the conversation is shifting away from whether they will play a role in the future, and towards how systems can be installed, protected and specified correctly to deliver reliable long-term performance. Our renewables features explore everything from system protection and water quality through to commercial heat pump design, thermal storage and the practical challenges installers face on site.
Elsewhere in this issue, there is a continued focus on helping installers work more efficiently while still delivering high-quality results for customers. From designer radiators that combine aesthetics with performance, to wall panel systems designed to reduce installation time, manufacturers are increasingly recognising the need to create products that make life easier on site.
Training, technical support and safety also remain high on the agenda. Whether it’s improving product knowledge, navigating increasingly technical systems or managing risks such as Legionella, installers are under pressure to stay informed in a fast-moving market. At the same time, merchants and suppliers continue to play a vital role in supporting the trade, helping installers access the products, expertise and advice needed to keep projects moving efficiently and customers satisfied.
