But in a market that is now moving faster than ever, there is a question our industry cannot afford to overlook: are we innovating for the next product cycle, or for the next two decades?
Unlike consumer technology, heating systems are not designed for short replacement cycles. A boiler, heat pump or ventilation system installed today may still be operating in 15, 20 or even 25 years’ time. It will likely serve multiple homeowners, operate through policy changes, energy market fluctuations and shifts in grid infrastructure. That longevity changes everything. As the UK accelerates its transition towards low-carbon heating, the conversation throughout the industry cannot be about innovation alone: it has to be about lasting innovation.

Thinking beyond the product
One of the biggest shifts now happening in our sector is moving away from thinking in terms of individual products and towards complete systems.
